Get it out. Works fine. Put in freezer, let it get cold. Put it in the cooler. It is what it is.
I've bought two of these and one of them had a significant leak on arrival. Holds the cold up to 4HRS w/o a cooler. Compact, durable. I've put a little bit of hermetic around the plug which seems to take care of the problem. Will buy more as needed.

I placed 2 in a 1-gallon water jug and the water between them actually froze.They stay cold a very long time. I plan on ordering 4 more so I have them for the camping season. You dont have to worry about waterproofing things before you place them in the cooler like you do with ice.
